Folding Cartons Are Witnessing Massive Demand For Medical Packaging, Food Packaging, And Cosmetic Packaging
Folding cartons are made from corrugated cardboard, which has been wrapped and laminated to provide an anti-corrosion strength. This enables the folding cartons to withstand challenging environments like spills and sharp objects which could damage other materials which are used to manufacture the cartons. The folding cartons are used for many purposes like food packaging, medical packaging, office packing, and cosmetic packaging, and so on. Furthermore, folding cartons are very lightweight. They are also known to be biodegradable, compostable, and sustainable.
The folding cartons first made the
paperboard packaging industry as what is known now, starting from the late 19th
century. The method includes folding corrugated cardboard made of printed
paperboard, laminated and cut, then glued and folded. After that, they are
placed into an acid-free environment for further strengthening and protection.
The acid-free environments make sure that the folding cartons don't get
affected by the harmful UV rays of the sun.
There are different methods that are
applied for the manufacturing of these boxes. One is through direct folding
where the raw materials like the corrugated paperboard and laminated paperboard
sheets are directly stacked one after the other. Another one is through cross-lamination,
which is done by applying ink coating over the top layer of the paperboard and
laminated corrugated boxes. In addition, there are also some modern methods
which include using special coatings and powders to create locking properties.
The wide range of folding cartons depends on the purpose or intended purpose of
usage. For instance, some of them are used for mailing purposes while others
are used for packing food. However, the important thing to note is that all
these products have laminated paperboard exterior and are not made of
corrugated cardboard. Recently, Mansfield, TX installed a six-color Komori

carton print capacity.
