Smartwatches have become a Prominent Accessory with latest providing innovative features including GPS Tracking

Smartwatches

A smartwatch is a wearable device in the form of a watch that provides modern-day features of smartphones such as a touchscreen interface for daily use. Although these types of watches have been in the market since the late 1980s, they have garnered major traction recently due to the launch of innovative products. Smartwatches have the ability to conduct many activities, as well as being a fashion accessory. They can provide information such as calorie counts, the time and distance you ran, and they can even calculate how many calories have been burned. Most of the time, these applications are powered by the user's own wireless connectivity via Bluetooth or USB.

Smartwatches can synchronize with a computer or with a cell phone via Bluetooth or USB, as well as providing GPS location information. Smartwatches can share information with companion health applications via your iPhone or Android device. Beyond those basic features, smartwatches offer a lot more. Most of the time the focus of the product is on entertainment, but as we've seen with the Apple Watch, the entertainment opportunities can extend beyond entertainment. For example, Sony has introduced the Walkman watch as a fitness tracker. While the Walkman may not do a ton of advanced features, it does provide a calorie count, a step count, and a fitness goal.

Smartwatches have started to mimic the look and feel of a traditional timepiece, with the exception of being able to interface with social media. Many luxury watches are equipped with social media connectors. While these may seem like superfluous features, there are many people who are looking for a smartwatch that serves as both a timekeeper and a social media device. In this case, the watch would need to connect to a social media network such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or MySpace. Recently, in November 2020, Citizen Watch Co., Ltd., a Japanese electronics company, launched CZ Smart as its first smartwatch.
