Vaccine Storage & Packaging Process Has Become Far More Sophisticated With The Addition Of Environmental-Friendly Plastic Cases

Vaccine Storage & Packaging

Vaccine storage & packaging are some of the most intricate processes. There is a lot that goes into properly storing and handling vaccines. This is due to the fact viruses and bacteria from which the vaccines are produced usually only remain in the recipient's body for a limited amount of time, which means that it is important to store the items safely and securely. Otherwise, the viruses can be released into the environment, potentially making those who received the vaccinations sick or can cause serious consequences to others. To do this, vaccines are stored in high quality, climate-controlled environments in lockers or in climate-controlled, environmental-friendly plastic cases.

There are many different methods of storage & packing of these valuable vaccines. This is so that vaccines are able to be handled in a hygienic and responsible manner. Some storage & packing methods include placing individual vaccines in individual bottles or vials, which helps prevent contamination between the various vaccines. Many manufacturers recommend that all vaccines should be kept separately, especially those that have a molecular structure that differs from the rest.

There are also several other methods of vaccine storage & packaging that aim to keep the vaccines safe, including using cold-storage units that use both temperature and humidity-controlled environments. These units help protect the vaccines against environmental elements, as well as helping keep the vaccines safe from surface contamination and abrasion damage. Another method that is used for helping vaccines safely to store is using aerosol cans with a tightly sealed lid. This helps to contain and protect the vaccines from surface contamination and abrasion, as well as humidity and temperature fluctuations. Recently, in December 2020, Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. inaugurated two new state-of-the-art facilities in Rheinfelden and Weil am Rhein, Germany aimed at catering to vaccine storage & packaging.
